ETSI Specialist Task Force on Privacy, Security and Interoperability (STF 547) is launched

ETSI has launched the STF (Specialist Task Force) 547, funded by the European Commission, on "Security/Privacy and Interoperability of standardised IoT Platforms". The purpose of the project is to refine the current status of standardisation regarding Privacy and Security (and to provide related Teaching Material) and to address the question of interoperability both from the angle of Semantic Interoperability and of the Interoperability of Platforms.

A chapter on IoT standardisation in "Cognitive Hyperconnected Digital Transformation"

A chapter, with main author Emmanuel Darmois, presenting the status of IoT standardisation has been published in the book "Cognitive Hyperconnected Digital Transformation". This chapter outlines the progress in standardisation in several domains such as Identification and addressing, Semantic interoperability, Security and Privacy, and the convergence of Information Technologies and Operation Technologies in Industrial IoT (IIoT).

Google Keep (s?)

On June 20th, Google has announced Google Keep. This is part of the Google Drive offering and it can be seen at least like a show case of the possibilities of Cloud in the Google domain. Taken seriously, this looks like a potential competitor to applications like Evernote (though that one has a much broader feature coverage) or Microsoft OneNote (though that one is rather seamlessly integrated in Microsoft Office and has a non-cloud version). 

But, do we have to take it seriously ? The most obvious answer is no.
