Emmanuel Darmois elected as vice-chairman of the ETSI Board
Two days after the General Assembly, the first meeting of the newly elected ETSI Board (and the 100th since the creation of the Board) has taken place the same week and has re-elected Emmanuel Darmois as chair of the OCG (Operational Coordination Group) with the attached role of vice-chairman of the Board.
The OCG is a focal point for technical work in ETSI and is a forum for co-ordination of the Technical Bodies (Technical Committees, ETSI Projects and also Industry Specification Groups), and between the Technical Bodies and the Secretariat. It is particular in charge to resolve, as far as possible, any duplication of effort or conflict of technical views between the Technical Bodies to reinforce co-operation within the Technical Organization.

CommLedge leading the phase 2 of Cloud Standards Coordination
The second phase of the Cloud Standards Coordination initiative is starting in January 2015. It is taking the form of a project coordinated by ETSI, the European Telecommunications Standards Institute, and grouping a number of experts in Cloud Computing and Standardization. The project will be led by Emmanuel Darmois and is expected to deliver its results by the end of October 2014 at the latest.

The Final EU Framework for Smart Grids standardization is published
The four final reports developed under the European Commission Mandate M/490 for standardisation of Smart Grids during 2013 and 2014 were approved by the CEN and CENELEC Technical Boards and by the ETSI Board at the end December 2014. These reports provide the main results from the standardisation work under the M/490 Mandate from 2011 to 2014.

ETSI has launched the STF (Specialist Task Force) 547, funded by the European Commission, on "Security/Privacy and Interoperability of standardised IoT Platforms". The ETSI Specialist Task Force on IoT Virtualisation publishes its final results
The ETSI Specialist Task Force (STF 535) has published its final results under the form of three Technical Reports. The purpose of the project was to analyse the applicability of virtualisation to the IoT system, outline which can of architectures could support them and how such development could be based on micro-services. This was going together with the identification of Open Source Software (OSS) solutions (and standards support) and a proof-of-concept using some of the identified OSS components.
