Emmanuel Darmois elected as vice-chairman of the ETSI Board
The work he will do in ETSI will be institutional:
• Member of the Board. On top of the regular duty of a Board member to ensure the resolution of issues and the guidance to the General Assembly, our work will focus on three main aspects: Strategic analysis for Cybersecurity, Strategic analysis for 5G, and the Interplay of standards and open source.
• Chairman of the OCG. Along the lines of the role described above.
• Vice-chairman of the Board. In this capacity, we represent ETSI in some official groups, in particular regarding the technical coordination between the 3 ESOs (European Standards Organizations), CEN, CENELEC and ETSI.
as well as linked to technical issues, in particular:
• Smart Grids, in particular within the Smart Grids Coordination Group (SG-CG) from 2011 to 2014 which has delivered its final results at the end of 2014. The continuation of this work is now done in the Smart Energy Grid Coordination Group (SEG-CG) that is, in particular, dedicated to the consolidation and dissemination of the SG-CG results.
• Cloud Computing. After having played the main coordination role in CSC (Cloud Standards Coordination) phase 1 in 2013, we are involved in CSC Phase 2 that will starts at the beginning of 2015.
• Member of the Board.
